Double rainbow!
This was the bright spot in my day. A double rainbow just as we were pulling out from the campground at Waterton Lakes. WOW! I've been getting spoiled on shooting stars and rainbows out here...sheesh
Aside from this the day was long. Lots of time to think driving hundreds of miles north along the Rocky Mountain front range. We stopped for a little field trip at a a spiffy mining and history museum at Crow's Nest Pass, passed through sunbeams and rainstorms, and eventually hit the trans-Canada highways pulling into what seemed another world at Canmore - a world class ski tourist town and very developed for our taste.
What I remember though is simply drivers seat bird watching - northern harrier hawks, western meadowlarks, and magpie jays amongst so many others. Gazing on herds of elk grazing in the fields and big creamy clouds suspended like a breaking wave over the front range.
Big sky, big heart - ready to burst wide open.
