The mission
Another full day exploring Santa Barbara and reveling in the cool, dry sunny days of the California coast.
Today I cycled around town exploring while waiting for Jenn to get off work. This shot is from the old Santa Barbara mission just down the way from their house. It is a beautiful old building and space that seems to hang suspended in the time of the Jesuits and Spanish conquistadors that once occupied this area.
Later I rode down to the beach to meet Jenn and we made a day of exploring town and picking up groceries for a trip to the Channel Islands tomorrow. The highlight of the day though was the evening. It is Jenn and Pete's 4 year anniversary, or non-aversary as they are calling it this year not making a fuss about it. We did some casual celebrating though and at the most delicious dinner at a favorite beachside restaurant out of town. In our finest sipping cold beers by the ocean and cutting into fish steaks never felt better.
Cheers to such great friends.
