What happens

... when you go out of the room for 2minutes whilst your toddler has a yogurt.

2years 40days

So much for munchkin obliging with the sleep. 10.30pm she decided it was awake time. Until midnight. Then 2 am. She did then sleep til nearly 6, but it was all enough to put the dampers on my "crack on with the essay" plan. Flaming teeth. It's not even her 2year molars yet, its the ones on the inside of the first set of molars, but she's always struggled with the teething, and still only has 12.

She's got her 2year check this morning (I'd been relying on the health visitor to be in the group of them striking, but she isnt!) I suspect she will be a perfectly normal 2year old - refuse to let them weigh her, wont do anything they ask and go completely mute!

Edit: turns out they do very little at this 2year check anyway. Katie wasnt on the surface part of it, bar the weighing and height measuring (both of which she obliged with once the HV had backed off). She went and played - although if it were me as the HV, observing the play Katie was doing would have showed she was developmentally fine. She chattered away - at one point she ran back to say "I need you to sit down Mummy" - she talked about colours, did pretend play, did stacking, and a bunch of other things. The HV showed slight surprise that she's still feeding, but didnt comment.

The verdict? She weighs just short of 24lb, is 81cm tall and bright as a button. Clever little Moo.

When I picked her up, we had a last minute treat - we went to meet Granny and Grandad for tea. She was extremely excited. Particularly as whilst we waited for food, her and Grandad took the highchair for a (literal) spin. And then did the same in the trolley when we went in the shop.
