Bee's Wax & Ink.
Some afternoons are just good.
I have been rather dreading writing out 10 menus in gold ink. Gold can get frisky and run away, clot, go dull if not frequently stirred, and generally have a mind of it's own.
But today it only did two blobs on me. I worked a few feet from my Aga, as my bones have been cold this week. It has been a pleasure being so warm, and listening to Radio 3 play in the background.
A friend is due after their Post Office routine.
The kettle is on, and I have lit a bee's wax candle. It smells wonderful.
I am looking forward to the small break. But have no fear to return to the second half of my work: gold names on scarily expensive White Company gift tags. Well, a bit of fear. But not this mornings anxiety. I must be working with a good bottle today. They can be devils.
