Heavy Lifter

A Titan crane at Clydebank. Now a museum but still a very impressive industrial age structure. Doubtless it helped in the manufacture and launch of many ships on the Clyde. The shiny silver long box on the side of the crane is a lift. It looks a bit out of place set against the rest of the structure but also perhaps adds a bit to the interest - especially when the sun glints on the shiny surface. It even looks a bit like a missile launcher!

Sadly not too many ships are built on the Clyde nowadays. And - as per the vapour trail in the image - a lot of modern day transportation is now courtesy of Boeing or Airbus etc.
