Monte Palace Gardens

A glorious day in Funchal. We wandered through the streets where they were making their preparations for today's Christmas lights being turned on.

It's low key, happy and fairly quiet - but that will change this evening.

During the afternoon we went up to the Monte Palace Gardens on the bus - crazy and chaotic - well they were trying to take a party of Madeiran brownies and scouts up on a levada walk as it's Bank Holiday !

The Monte Palace Gardens were superb as ever - and the sun shone....
