Over the garden wall

Coming from Europe I've always struggled with the way people's homes in San Jose are transformed into prisons. At least that's what it looks like to an outsider.

Security over anything 'aesthetically' pleasing - bars on the windows, gates on the doors, razor wire around the perimeter, in this, the urban concrete jungle.
