Seeing Winter in the Northwest #3

An odd image this must seem. But watching the end of this turquoise tube is part of our winter ritual. The rains fall. The ponds fill up AND the when they reach a certain height they flow from one to another. This piece of pipe is the drainage from the first pond into a ditch that sends the water on its way to the second pond. So we watch with great anticipation.

By this time of year the ponds are usually full and flowing. Not this year. Not enough rain. Which we appreciate on one hand and on the other... we wait for the ponds to run. ;-)
