Target

Got some stuff at Target today. Whee. I love Target.

Last night I had a dream about going back in time. I had traveled back to 1997, and strangely enough I looked exactly the same as I do now. No one from 1997 seemed to notice that I wasn't 11 anymore, ha. So I was going around correcting small things from my past and generally making my future life better.

When I woke up, I laid there thinking about the dream. I then thought about how nice it would be to be able to go back to 1997 and relive the last 11 years with the 22-year-old mindset I have now. How life would've been much easier for me! Then I began wondering about whether I'd do the same things I did growing up -- if I got to relive my teenage years, would I still hang out with the same people if I knew I wouldn't be friends with them today? Would I still date Paolo if I knew we wouldn't last? Would I utilize my college education in high school and pass my AP classes with flying colors? Would I go to UIC and study architecture instead of becoming a film student at Columbia?

While it would be nice to see the future and adjust things so your life would come out a lot better, I've decided that if I had the chance to go back in time, I wouldn't. Who knows where I'd be today if I changed something in my past? I'm pretty happy right now, and while I do have regrets, I don't think life would be as exciting if it was so perfect. My past helped me shape who I am right now, and I kind of like myself and I don't want to have turned out differently.

So here's to life!
