Child of the 60s
I bought this little book for Nigel for Christmas.
He was a teenager in the 60s, I hit 13 in 1970.
As he has recently had a birthday (December) I always like to make the most of the fact he is four years older than me, until my birthday in April. Then there is 3 years, 3 months between us.
Here are some of the quotes from the book:
You can still recall the names of all six firemen in Trumpton (OK, it's Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb).
In your heart you're still a free-spirited flower child - albeit a free-spirited flower child with a mortgage, 2.4 children and a nine-to-five job in IT.
You used to really want to marry that girl in the balloon from the Nimble advert. Her or Lady Penelope.
Growing up as a girl, the only careers that were open to you involved typing, nursing or hairdressing. (As i didn't want to be a nurse or a hairdresser, I became a typist)
Your birthdayy cards usually contained a ten shilling note or a book token (and you were very grateful).
All it took to impress a girl was a Babycham followed by dinner at a Berni Inn.
Hope you are having a good weekend. It turned out quite nice here today xx
