A Cousin Day Out
We had my niece spend the day with us today. After picking her up, I asked the kids what they wanted to do, and they replied "Franklin Zoo!"
So that's where we went. Got there in time to see the feeding of the baby deer, so the kids all had pats of her. Fed the ducks, emus, zebras, chickens, goats, rabbits and peacocks while we were there. Loads of fun.
My niece sized up the emu, and then declared very calmly "I'm scared of that". She just backed off a bit, but didn't have the screaming ab dabs, so that was great.
After lunch, we stopped at Wholesale Tree Company to visit the rabbits, chickens, ducks and Charlie (the free range cockatoo), unfortunately a squall happened so we ducked out before we could locate Charlie.
The weather near home was a little better, but VERY BLUSTERY, so we stopped off at Omana Beach to play in the playground there. Lots of fun.
When we finally got home, we opted for a bit of downtime watching Charlie and Lola, as a certain 2 and a half year old had fought her sleep off. We dropped her back to her Dad when he knocked off work, and I hope she has enjoyed her day as much as we have.
My girls have now gone for a swim with their Dad, leaving me time to blip and mooch online cook dinner and rectify the detritus everywhere.
A good day.
