7/31 fruit - bananaphone
I thought about postponing the challenge today but... well. It's amazing what your average banana can do these days.
Ben called both sets of grandparents on it to tell them about the cakes we were making (he got it in his head that we were making strawberry cakes for some reason, despite having already put carrot and courgette into the mix!), set the timer alarm on it when we put the muffins in the oven, and took photos of the cooked muffins when they came out!
We actually got dressed today, without too much crying from Charley. That was an achievement, given we weren't planning on going out. Spent a good deal of the morning feeding / settling Charley, and clearing some old shelves (soon to be firewood) in between. Then, once it became obvious Charley couldn't get a minutes' peace I wrapped him up for a sleep and while Ben was occupied watching JellyJamm on repeat I got all the ingredients ready to do some baking.
Which turned out to be a huge success!! I practised a HUGE amount of restraint and fished eggshell out of the cup that Ben broke the egg into. He tipped, he poured, he mixed and stirred; and he filled each mini muffin case himself with me only holding each case out to him.
It took a loooooong time but he did it!!!
AND, we ate every single one - ok, not every single one, we did save one for daddy.
So there you have it. How to get Ben to eat veg. In a cake! And he knew what he was eating too because he put all the ingredients in. Winner!
This afternoon I been attempting to use cloth nappies on Charley. They look eNORmous on him. I'm trying various different folds for the terry square to see which gives maximum absorbency but so far (after 1 hour and 1 wee) it looks like I'll be changing a nappy every hour, or every wee, whichever comes sooner....
