The Gardens
But Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
~ Robert Burns
Today's shot of East Princes Street Gardens wasn't my original plan. It wasn't even my backup plan, but as long as the weather allows, I'll never bore of wandering through this city. Both of these other ideas will be kept in the back pocket for another day but for today it's an antiqued treatment of a very quiet gardens. There was a frost on the largely bare ground which is still recovering from the festive amusements. An alternative vision for today can be found here.
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments yesterday. Like many of you, I didn't realise this monument existed until a few months ago. Don't we do well in publicising these things.
Talking about publicising, I keep forgetting to visit the forums. A big meet is being organised in Edinburgh in March for anyone interested in coming along. It is turning out to be a truly international affair. If you are on Facebook, details have beed added to the Blip Does Edinburgh group.
Well, we're almost at the end of another weekend. All the very best for the week ahead.
