Day 18 - Milford Sound
Return trip to Milford Sound was a 12 hour journey from Queenstown.
The day started with a clear view of snow on the local Remarkables mountain range. We stopped for a break just short of the snowline (3000' !) and watched the Kea mountain parrots try to pull the reversing camera off the coach in front .
The cruise around the sound was incredible, the recent heavy rain ensured all the waterfalls were at max capacity and that fresh snow covered the vertical peaks of Milford Sound.
The waterfall in the centre of my blip is Stirling Falls. It's 500 feet high!
