Vineyard lunch

Today we started pruning the vines. We managed about a hundred so there are just 4900 to go. It's a good idea to start gently and work up since one's back has to be nurtured at first. Otherwise you work for one day and spend the rest of the week going to the chiropractor.

We had lunch in the vineyard, out in glorious sunshine with barely a breath of wind. As we worked more and more clothes were hung on the wires as we became too hot. Can you believe it? Usually we're battling a fierce wind which whistles straight off the mountains.

After lunch the dogs queued for leftovers. Utter concentration. What an excellent day.
