I had an assignment covering a Chinese New Year celebrations today, from which over 700 pictures need to be (ahem) edited down to something manageable.
I wasn't the official photographer there, and by the number of photogs hanging around, I don't think that was a well defined entity. My main brief was to cover my daughter's school's representation there. This beautiful girl was also taking photographs for one of the groups doing a show, and we got talking about our respective experiences. Thankfully she wasn't one of those photographers who hate being on the receiving end of a lens; although I can see why she will be more relaxed at that prospect than, say, myself.
I do feel a bit guily not contributing something from the show, but this is as good an impromptu portrait as I can remember doing.
