Tree Shadows
The early part of the day around here was very showery and unpleasant, but after mid-day, the weather brightened and we thought that could dare to go out for a short walk. It stayed sunny, but was very cold. It certainly isn't spring yet.
We are lucky to have a large and lovely park close behind our house, and this park has figured in several of my Blipfotos over the months. Today, the bright sun made us cheerful despite the cold. The lighting was just right to produce some nice shadows of the trees, and give a good contrast between light and shade. But the length of the shadows not long after noon shows that the sun doesn't get very high in the sky yet.
These pollarded trees give a somewhat different effect.
And here is the duck pond, replete with ducks, with more sunlit areas in the background. We recall that we used to bring our children here regularly to see and feed the ducks 40 years ago (OMG!), when we had a different home on the other side of the ring-road, but from which this park was easily reachable.
