Waterfoot Sunrise

Shepherd's Warning

Only problem with the days starting to open up is you have to get up even earlier to catch the sunrise. Fortunately I was up early anyway and there were signs of some colour developing on the horizon.

As I walked down to the river I grabbed some quick shots as experience has shown that early colours can disappear fast. On review it is often the case that the first shots are the best and the colours weaken as the sun rises. However, this morning the colours got richer as I walked towards the sea. The tide was very far out and when I got to the spot where the river joins the sea the sky behind Arran was on fire. It also started to illuminate the snow on the mountains on the left of the blip.

I took umpteen shots but settled on this one simply because I liked it best! Forecast is for the cloud to come in from the west with rain later. Looks like the old saying about a red sky in the morning could, unfortunately, be right!
