Farming is happiness
Got to try some new things out today! Spent most of the day stringing trellises to support our lilikoi (Hawaiian for passionfruit) plants. Around midday I planted some sprouted cacao seeds with our other Elizabeth. The cacao will sit in pots for around three months before being transplanted onto the property somewhere, at which point they'll take around 3 years to seed. And then I'll make all the chocolate I want, bwahaha!
This blissful fellow is Scott (he is one of two Scotts here actually) at the end of a hard day's work. I feel this image captures perfectly the sentiment of our community: pride and deep satisfaction in working and living for a more healthy, sustainable, and loving way of life.
Lots of clouds today, which cooled things off dramatically. It's rained the last two nights, and I suspect it will again tonight. After multiple dry weeks, the plants are happy with the change in the weather.
