Washday Blues

Today we were woken at 04:30 by a phone call from Lauren who was very upset.

Obviously first thoughts were for the bump Harry but it was nothing to do with that. Lauren and Tom had been awoken by something and had been downstairs to find they had been burgled.

Jayne went off to see what could be done. They have taken keys to vehicles, been through cupboards and drawers etc Laurens new camera with pics of her 21st still on has gone and no doubt other bits and bobs yet to be noticed. They took a Discovery Tom has bought to sell. It is all done up for serious offroading so will stand out a mile. The police thought the Disco would have been second choice after Lauren's Seat Ibiza but the burglers couldn't find the keys for that.

The police were lovely and very helpful and it's mostly material losses (insured thankfully) but the pics obviously can't be replaced.

So this is the second time all the hospital baby stuff has been washed without even being worn! Its the least I could do. The first wash was to remove any manufacturing gubbins. This time because the thieves have been through it all. Presumably looking for valuable baby clothes and wipes.

The scrotes burglars dropped a little baggie of weed and the police think this may well have been handled without gloves and worth dusting. They have been really helpful and were also going to alert 24hr petrol stations (as the Disco was nearly out of fuel) Who knows they may well be caught.

Anyway, better crack on, it's the dentists later.

Edit:- Went round after dentists to find a tree crew there attending to some of the poplars (on council land) that are buckling the drive and garden flags with their invasive roots. Not attending to all of them but its a start.

Also whilst there the SOCO guy turned up with his bag of tricks and fairy dust. So I helped Lauren clean it all off after he'd finished. He seemed thorough but was realistic in what could be done. That said he gave good advice about better locks and such.
