Flying
Today has been a lot about flight.
This morning we had an Unbirthday for the girls, as Grandma and Daddad are not going to be around for the Eldest's birthday, so rather than be with one girl and not the other, Grandma had an unbirthday for them. All of their presents will be useful on our Big Trip, where we will be flying away to at the end of the month.
The weather was looking a touch uninspiring, so we got out some wind up rubber band plane model things, and made them. A bit challenging, but we got there in the end. Had a blast making them fly across the section, up the drive, into the Youngest's head.
Then this afternoon, we took the girls and their kites, and the husband and his kite (yes Lucy! Finally used!!!) to Te Puru, along with Grandma. We had a fabulous time flying. Well, the Husband did a lot of crashing at first. You'd hear the kite whizzing down to the ground, and hit with a lot of impact. I was the first one to get it under control. That sorted the Husband out...not to be outdone.
This is the Eldest, having her turn with the Husband's stunt kite. She did very well with it. The Youngest had a turn, but the wind killed it before she really mastered it. Another day.
Thanks Grandma for helping to make today such a lot of fun. Now just to get the Eldest better, she's been off colour for a couple of days, and did well come and join in today. Hopefully sleep sorts it tonight.
