Decisions . . . . . . . .
In preparation for my quilting class I have looked through my stash to find some fabric for the next project. Having made two quillows - one for each daughter - I want to make a quilt for the house. By that I mean a quilt that will drape itself somewhere until someone wants to snuggle under it to watch TV or read a book or whatever.
I had some fabric in mind, some fat quarters bought while I was on holiday in New Zealand and Australia two years ago. The NZ fabric has the fern motif and the Oz fabric has some aboriginal art which I like very much. I hadn't forgotten them, just saving them for the right moment!
The fabric is all in fat quarters, which is ideal, as the pattern I've chosen for my quilt is called "Chatterbox" which requires 12 fat quarters.
There is an amazing little shop in Linlithgow which is a fabric mecca known to quilters. Some time ago, in that shop, I had bought a fat quarter with the wines of New Zealand on it and what was even more surprising it featured a bottle of wine from Gisborne, a town in North Island, which we had just visited to stay with friends. I had wondered what to do with it and now I know! So that will go into my house quilt, but not quite decided on the other fabric. . . . . . . .
