Spring is in the air

I could take this blip every day and every day it would be different.
But I love to watch the activity in our pond as winter turns towards spring.

The fish are starting to show signs of activity after a period of lethargy, and the frogs are starting to cling onto each other for dear life.
No doubt one or more of the frogs will meet it's demise as an over zealous bull frog literally squeezes the life out of her.
And when they do spawn the fish will devour their share.
But frogs work the percentage game, because there will be a crop of new frogs that make it through the various stages and grow to their full size.

And the fish will produce more young. Some will get eaten by birds, or local cats. But some will survive.

And so the eco system that is our pond will continue.
