Bedtime stories
The room at nursery which Ethan graduated to last month faces on to the nursery car park. I don't know if he starts watching out the window as soon as parents arrive to collect other kids or if he has an inbuilt clock programmed for when we're due, but recently he has been standing looking out the window as we drive up. He spots our car straight away, points at us and jumps up and down in excitement!
However he wasn't there today. When I went in to the nursery, he was sitting in a circle with5 other children and a nursery nurse playing a game. It involved one of the children crouching down in the middle with their hands over their eyes while another hid the "honeypot" behind their back. The child in the middle then had to guess who was hiding it! I managed to sneak in without Ethan seeing me and watched for 5 minutes or so. Was so lovely to see him enjoying himself, and joining in with the game so well. It's the longest I've been able to "spy on him", without him realising I was there before.
This evening, hubbie and I swapped routines. He did bathtime with Ethan while I did milk and stories (rather than milk and Hollyoaks which is hubbies favoured routine)! Four stories later and Ethan was finally ready to go to bed.
