Hey Ewe

Went for a run in the car this afternoon and ended up in the Richmond area, starting with Easby Abbey.Took lots of pics of the ruins but the light was poor, resulting in the stonework looking somewhat drab.
We headed into Richmond itself for our customary afternoon tea, stopping en route to see if we could see any new born lambs. These poor sheep were still struggling to survive on Winter feed , several of them preferring the fodder deep inside the mound. They would bury their heads completely.I've heard the expression 'running around like a headless chicken' but headless sheep?
As soon as we stopped the car, they started streaming towards us, bleating at us as they rushed forwards.I've never known such inquisitive sheep.
Referring back to my Blip of yesterday, they would have out stared anyone or anything! They certainly weren't 'sheepish' sheep!
For some reason the many colours on their coats(I think several local farmers must have decided to claim ownership) made me think of the story of Joseph. I have seen the stage production of 'Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat' several times but have to say ,none of them were so pleasing as the original London Cast ,starring Jason Donovan.I wonder if this fine specimen in the centre of my picture is a distant relative?I doubt if he could have out sho(r)n our star of the stage. Maybe he might just be related to 'J Shaun' the sheep?
