Bright sunshiney day
Thanks to everyone who commented on my post yesterday about the pulldown of the Occupy Norwich camp, which had been in place since October 15th 2011.
Checked messages to learn that after I left the site last night others had gone down to help and worked late into the night pulling down all the structures, bagging up rubbish, putting stuff into orderly piles and all that remained was for cars and vans to go down this morning to take things to the dump.
The offer from the city council to assist with taking away larger items had been accepted and by 9am this morning the site had been cleared, swept and doused by council staff with some kind of liquid which I assume was toxic as there was also a cheery, bright yellow tape bearing the words 'Hazard site: do not enter' surrounding the site.
En route to work I got myself a sausage and onion sandwich from one of the small independent cafes and sat in the sun on one of the benches overlooking the site having a little think about what I personally can do to 'be the change I want to see'. It will be interesting to see what the next phase of 'Occupy' activity brings.
Onwards and upwards.
