I'll take this one!

This little downy took a good look at the peanut chips before making his selection. Woodpeckers, cardinals, nuthatches, chickadees, and titmice populated the trees and shrubs behind this bench. They weren't there when I walked up, but there must have been 12-15 birds flitting in and out as soon as I set out the handful of peanuts. I was standing in the rain with my camera. I got wet, my camera got wet, but the birds didn't seem to mind.

Thanks to everyone who left me birthday greetings yesterday. Some of you commented on the large size of the cake, but there were plenty of people to eat it. I brought two pieces to my neighbors and gave four to my grandchildren, but I didn't bring any home. I didn't dare!
