Jose Ignacio.....town of unusual dog sculptures

Jose Ignacio town and the Uruguayan coast seems to be awash with money and showing no signs of a global recession.

The houses here and in the neighbouring town of La Barra are huge in scale and quite bold in their design. To accompany the house it also seems popular to have larger than life sculptures. One gallery called Holz specialises in animal sculptures including crows, crabs and particularly dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Our 3 nights in Jose Ignacio have been the perfect tonic to top up the tan and up the fitness regime. Tomorrow we revisit our old friends Zoe & David at their lovely Abode B&B in Palermo, Buenos Aires.
