Front Cow Pen
The rear porch is now more or less done. Finished off trimming the roofing this morning. Took time to make up three more cutting blocks with the blade inside (like the one on Friday). Decided that my Friday problems was down to the blade blunting very quickly - roof material (shingles or rolled) is really abrasive for blades.
With the roof done I could get cracking on the hurricane clips. Hurricane clips are a metal bracket with a special (?) type of nail that gives a structure more strength during a hurricane - they are also code. So got them nailed into place as well.
Decided at this point not to go onto the interior of the house and instead do the front porch. The front porch is in pretty good shape apart from a rotted fascia board which I'll sort later. However the rails need to come down as they just look rubbish.
Quickly got some treated 1*4*10s in and started work on the new look.
Sounds strange but just getting the old rails down made the house look better, and this pen look of mine already improves the look of the property. I'm hoping tomorrow that the new pen look will start giving the house a renewed look, something it desperately needs.
