My fingernails are ruined. That's what a week of soil and muck does for you. Perhaps my mother was right - maybe I should give them the weekend off and a bit of tlc.
I wasn't digging today but measuring up for another coldframe and for glass to replace a pane. As I turned to go, the sun was just at the right spot to produce the most fabulous flare. I grabbed the camera and couldn't see a thing - probably burnt my retina in doing so. The result for me is as sweet as looking into the eyes of one of Juliana's models. There are two crows and a magpie in here, go large to find them.
I was clearing up today. Everyone seems to have too many of their possessions in other rooms. My babies have been tidying out their bookcases. Such delights were uncovered. They both decided that so long as I promised not to thrown them out, I could become the guardian of some of their most favourite toddler books. So Kipper, Mrs Large, The Princess in Lullabyhullabaloo, Bear, Percy the Park Keeper, Wibbly Pig and a host of others sat around in my bedroom for a while. And for a while, I sat on the bed with them and read them aloud to myself. The faces of the tiny babies that looked back at me are such precious memories. It was such a treat. I found a special place for them. I just hope I remember where it is.
