Rodeo

For the 3rd year in row, I went to a neighboring city to see a ranch rodeo. There are no bucking broncos or brahma bulls. Mostly it is riding and roping. Separating a numbered calf from the rest of the herd without letting the other calves cross a chalked line. 4 events like that. It is a team sport. 5 cowboys/cowgirls working together. Interesting to watch.

We got up early to hit some garage sales and craft shows. We ended up seeing lifenaturally ( a blipper) manning the book stall at her condo associations sale. She is doing very well. Not blipping much, but still doing a lot of quilting.

We then waited 25 minutes to get into another sale. All we bought were books that cost anywhere from 10 cents to a dollar. And...oh yeah...we had lunch at 10:30 at the sale. Pulled pork and homemade pie. Some traditions you just don't mess with...no matter what the time. Sure sign of getting old. Lunch at 10:30 a.m., supper at 4 p.m., and breakfast before you go to bed. Sheesh!!!

I wanted to get the little guy in who is in the middle of the picture. He started off the rodeo by circling the arena with the flag. He was also a "cleaner." 4 people who keep the calves where they are supposed to be until the next team is up. Such a handsome little guy. His mother was a competitor last year. Let's just say that he comes from good genes, or is it good jeans?

For all the people waiting to see a a blip of an old guy in a Speedo (you know who you are), I give you the next best thing. Cowboy butts. These guys are a special breed. Made me want to put on a hat, grab some chew, and walk around asking..."How's that hoss running today?"

If you are driven to...click on large. But, if you do...you have to give me your best..."YEEEEE-HAHHHH!!!!!"

So long pardners. I'm sashaying off into the sunset.
