Table Mountain bested, barely

As it was a gorgeous day and we were both in need of the great outdoors, Vincent and I decided to hop in the '69 Beetle he's renting and see whether Cape Town's signature stone lives up to her reputation. She does. We took the fastest path, which turned out to be the most difficult (more of a rock climb than a hike), and made it to the summit in just under two hours. I was definitely weak and winded by that point, but the view made up for it. None of the pictures I took captured the color or grandeur of what I saw up there, but I thought this one had merit just for dwarfing Lion's Head (my first hike, back in July). We spent about an hour having a picnic lunch and walking around the plateau, and then it was another hour and a half back to the Beetle.

This was a very happy Sunday. I'm sore and exhausted, but I've had all the fresh air I need to breeze through another week at my desk.
