Advanced men at work

After yesterday's blip today we found evidence of some advanced men. Power went off to 8 homes on our street last night and some excellent men restored temporary power last night. We were ok last night but at 5 am today the whole street went off. So out came another set of men with barriers and a digger to make another hole.

At no point was the power actually switched off. They cut the bad bit out then join it up using aluminum connects and a bit of insulating tape, all with power still live! Although not totally clear this blip is of the engineer joining the live wire with nothing more to protect him than a pair of thick gloves and thick boots. When I suggested to his mate that he should stand clear he replied his kid was to stand close "in case this goes t*** up!"
Anyway, thanks to these advanced men we now have power restored.
