Breath of fresh air

Spent much of today drawing up the frighteningly long list of organisations I need to contact about our impending change of address.

During the slog, there was a moment of drama when our coffee machine exploded. It might sound vaguely amusing, but it was actually quite scary - a partilly blocked section created a build-up of steam that led to an inevitable conclusion. There was a huge bang and part of the kitchen was sprayed with coffee grounds.

What makes this event even more depressing is that this machine was a silver wedding anniversary present to ourselves. Now it looks like we might have to get another.

We took a break from all of this with a brief walk along the canal to an old millpond and its very impressive weir.
