Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

While we sat in the spa early this evening watching the sky slowly fade to dark, the pooches snuggled in as close to us as they could get. They don't like the pool; actually I should say they don't like the water. The air was chilly so little Chloe snuggled against Mitzi's back and then finally rested her chin on Mitzi. Max was just out of the photo. I had spread some soft fleece on the patio for them to rest on. They were behaving quite well. They were more than pleased when we decided it was time to get out of the wonderfully warm water and head inside for the remainder of the evening.

All three dogs had been to the groomer this morning for a bath and a trim. We usually do the bathing, but today we decided to let the groomer do it and then we could take a couple hour getaway to Orange County, to the city of Fullerton, to have a late lunch at a place that I really like: the Rialto Cafe. It was a delicious lunch and nice escape, but it is always lovely to reconnect with the pups. If it had been just slightly cooler or if we had been assured that we could park the car in shade, we probably would have just taken the pups with us and given them a bath ourselves, but it was kind of fun to get them taken care of and bathed all at the same time.

This has been a very good day, and especially because I haven't had any grading to do.

Good night from Southern California.
