Why did I come in here?

Today, despite being ravaged by Man-Flu which meant I saw 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 O'Dark hundred, I clambered from my wee bed and made my way to ENT. I went in a few weeks ago and they had a chuckle at the age of my hearing aid, designed by Edison, you may have seen a little terrier sitting beside it.

New aids are mine, my right ear has finally dropped off the scale so here we go, balanced hearing and hopefully less repetitions for Mrs Booty and anybody else who tries, usually in vain, to communicate with me. To top it all they are gray so match my hair. Yippppeeeee!

As is my usual luck nothing goes smoothly. Notice the blue and red indicators by the batteries. For some obtuse reason ENT make the right ear red, and the left ear blue. When everybody since Noah has used Red for Port and Green for Starboard. A quick phone call assurred me that just to keep me happy the audiologist had changed them over, thereby satisfying my nautical side.

As a final note I had to advise an elderly gent that his 'uncomfortable' hearing aid would be more comfy if he used a small electric razor and removed the bush that was growing in his lug. I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.
