inspired by the humble bumble bee

I am not sure if this is the bumble bee that lives in the home I found two days ago but he was busy on the white heather nearby drinking nectar. I wonder where he gathered the bright yellow pollen? Perhaps it was from the forsythia.

Of the nineteen British species of bumblebee, three are now extinct, eight are in serious decline and only six remain widespread. This is an added incentive to work away at establishing a chemical-free nectar-rich sanctuary for them. On with the digging and boulder-removing!
