inspired by steam trains
The Cumbrian Mountain Express was due to pass by our house at 11.40 this morning. We decided to climb the hill to get a better view. Others had the same idea. We all chose the best vantage spots. Adrian had his camera set on continuous shooting mode and I had decided to go for a video.
By 12.15, nearly everyone had given up waiting but we were with an experienced steam train buff who knew that patience was a valuable asset and guessed that it might be a whole hour late.
Exactly on cue, at 12.40, we saw a billow of smoke approaching. I pressed the appropriate buttons and panned steadily from left to right. I looked up from my camera to see it disappearing under the bridge in a huge white cloud............Unfortunately, I had pressed the button at the wrong time.
