It is Friday
This is the famous Ted Richards, the inspiration and commitment to have great jazz at Burgundy's Wine Bar Kendal every thursday night for over seven years.
Ted often plays drums and we are never too sure how he will be dressed and is generally towards the flamboyant. He brings colour and energy and is always trying to encourage jazz dancing which does happen sometimes. I am not too sure how he does it but money does change hands at the end of the night and everybody seems to be very happy. The new micro brewery at Burgundy's is a new attraction as well and the 'Helga's Dunkel Bier' 3.7% , gained top award in last weeken's micro brewery festival. Mike Pennington, the owner and great supporter of the jazz was happily pulling pints last night but Helga's beer ran dry early on - that says it all.
With Ted last night was Tim Barty on baritone and tenor sax, Alan Beecham on keyboards and Roy Cansdale on double bass - and this was Alan Beecham's Quartet.
Another great night at Burgundy's
