Boats
What a weird day!
Even though I wasn't diving today, I'd offered to collect the club RIB from it's 'home' (it stays in the same place as I keep my boat) and take it back at the end of the day.
I noticed the tide was lower that I expected it to be based on when S (who was organising the trip) said Low Water was today.......he had got it an hour out which meant it was too low to launch the boats! Or at least that was my advice but they decided to go ahead and try anyway! S's boat is much smaller & lighter than the club boat and they managed to launch it but the club boat trailer wheels sank in the sand and got stuck! They pulled the boat off the trailer and had to wait for the tide to turn to float it.
I headed home and after a cuppa and a chill-out, I started on my accounts.
I got a call at 11am to go and collect the boat as it wasn't a happy bunny. The engine would start but kept konking out (similar to the problem I'm having with my boat just now!). When I got there, we found a problem with the trailer which the boys sorted with brute force!
I took the boat back and finally had the rest of the day free to sort out my business accounts and finish the spreadsheets which were worrying me so!
I had a really lovely surprise today! I got a message from my pal Corrine! I haven't heard from her in many months & I was delighted to get her message! She lives near Amsterdam and I'm hoping we can meet up on my way to South Africa in May as I have an overnight stay in Amsterdam!!!
I bought myself some lovely flowers today. I love flowers around the house and I make sure these are always fresh flowers in my flat now. I'm not very good with plants and the only one that has ever survived with me is my oxalis triangularis. I noticed it has flowered and I adore these wee lilac flowers.
