Topsham - Boat Graveyard

A much better day, weather-wise, than yesterday. Still April showers (including one hail shower) but at least there was sun and warmth in between.

We wanted to go to Torre Abbey, Torquay today, but found on the internet that it is closed for refurbishment until 2013/14. Totnes was selected as second choice, but first we had to take Tom to the station so he could get a train into Exeter. By the time we'd dropped him off in Dawlish, we decided to go east rather than west. Exmouth was eliminated in favour of Topsham.

So two or three hours in Topsham, a nice place loved by the rich and famous (Johnny Depp is rumoured to have a place there). There is a thriving marina there on the River Exe, and the town does boast a variety of independent and interesting shops and cafés. Also a photo opportunity. I took a few pictures see - Topsham photos, none of which I was particularly pleased with (how do you capture a feeling?) though this one I thought worthy of blipping, the boat graveyard, based on the opposite side of the river. Interesting.
