Everyday I Write The Book

London, my London (3)

Okay it's a bit obvious, but TSM and the Dizzle were breathing down my neck and muttering words like "it's late, it's cold and I wanna go home" so I couldn't do anything more than blip the cliche. But it's a pretty cliche, and I love the blue lights you find in the trees here and elsewhere along the South Bank.

We'd gone up to London (in my case after work) for a meal with Maude (not her real name) and ended up in a pretty decent place called Locale, just behind the old GLC building. I was a bit quiet after a slightly mind numbing ten and a half hour day in the office. Just too much to do and a feint air of depression at last week's departures of certain colleagues.

Maude was in fine fettle and her and TSM quickly settled into a discussion of their favourite topic, the science of bowel movements. I won't elaborate but let's just say not many people could discuss this over a plate of seafood linguine. I stuck to my spinach and Gorgonzola gnocchi and tried not to listen.

I love London. I can't get enough of it. Looking forward to taking delivery of The London Encyclopaedia from Amazon later this week ...
