Wild magnolia

We were lucky to be in China just when all the tress are in blossom. The hillsides at Moganshan were bamboo forest and mixed coniferous/deciduous woodland, which had wild azaleas, magnolias and other flowering trees growing as understorey. It reminded me of Abbotsbury sub-trpoical gardens.

The buildings glimpsed though the flowering magnolia are in Moganshan village, a short walk up the mountain from the Naked Retreat where we stayed.
