Ceremonies

A day in Glasgow attending degree ceremonies; makes it all seem worthwhile, somehow. Several colleagues were collecting degrees plus at least one blipper, hurray! Congratulations to Kat, who's overcome considerable obstacles to achieve this. There are more photos by the proud parent here. After each graduate's name was announced formally, as the applause was starting there was an audible cry, something like "Hello, Catherine, how're you doing?", along with a huge grin from the V-C. I could see how each graduate's face lit up as they approached him and the rapt expressions on their faces when he addressed them all afterwards. He's a remarkable man.

I wasn't in a good blipping spot in the concert hall, so was pleased to see some interesting weather passing in front of the Ochils from the train on the way home. Having been indoors all day we'd missed the weather and indeed the football; there were some very merry Hibs fans on the train though!

(The location is approximate - it was before we got to Falkirk station anyhow).
