Sheer Drop!

We visited Sherkin Island today in Roaring Water Bay, although we almost went to Cape Clear Island as we were about to embark on the wrong ferry, friends Miranda and Jamie were phoning us from the Sherkin bound ferry, so we just made it!
The weather was just perfect, cool and sunny, we walked the length of the Island and up onto the headland. the cliff scenery was dramatic and not for the faint hearted, the view out to Cape Clear was breathtaking. There was a lot of stone walls, many built right along the cliff edge, the whole area had a very ancient feel to it. Descended to a white sand beach and paddled to sooth the scratched legs!
More exploring of this beautiful Island before getting the last ferry back to Baltimore. The pub is well known for it's pizzas and we were very hungry, a pint a pizza and some live music, perfect end to a great day!
