When The IRA tasrgetted The Grand Hotel in Brighton, hose of you of a ceratin age may remember Lady Tebbitt being brought out on a stretcher. As a result of her injuries she lost a leg and suffered Depression.
Asked some time later if she had a choice of not having Depression or having her leg back she said she would rather live without the leg than the Depression. I can relate to that. have no idea why I feel so lethargic, anxious and depressed this week. With so many good things happening and about to happen, it's just so odd.
But anyway, blip is a positive thing. My doctor insists I get out every day. I really just wanted to go back to bed, but he'd only whinge at me if I didn't get out. I took a few of the garden at first but got enough motivation to go to Preston and photo something. I got to the docks and thought this would have to do. I've only seen this boat lift working once. it was quite a feat and took most of a day to lift a canal boat out of the water and onto a waiting lorry.
In other news, i got a phone call from BBC Humberside asking for comments about the Hull Marathon that took place on Easter Sunday. The course was short and they wanted my views about the implications for the organisers and the athletes. I gave them some background information and it seemed enough for them to want me to go into a TV studio in Blackburn to do an interview. Hmmmmmm, I don't think so; not in my current state of health. I'll let the race organisers do the interviews and explain their errors (ahh, but they are refusing to comment). I can manage quite happily without a trip to a TV studio at my own expense to do an interview about a controversy that is not of my making.
Now, if they want an interview about how thrilled I am to carry The Olympic Torch, that's another thing altogether. Always happy to talk about good news.
Sorry if you've lost the will to live reading this, but part of this is about me writing so I feel better, and I do now.
