Dad phoned me this morning to say that his mum and my Nana passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning - My 30th Birthday. They decided not to tell me yesterday when they phoned to wish me a Happy Birthday, wanting me to obliviously enjoy my day.

She had a stroke nearly six weeks ago and had been in hospital since. I'd managed to spend several hours at her bedside since I got back from China but I didn't realise that when I kissed her forehead and said goodbye to her last Thursday, that it would be the last time I saw her...

She's back with Papa now.
