The Old Schoolhouse

Thanks once again for all the stars and hearts for yesterday's Baaa'd Sunset on the west coast of Kintyre. Despite all the dashing about trying to get the lamb back into the field, it was still a very magical moment and the kind I love to savour behind the lens of a camera.

Today it was back to earth with lots of work to be done at the local Network Centre. Since completing our new house, I have become involved in this community initiative that looks to promote new enterprises in Carradale. There are a number of projects under consideration and one is to transform this old schoolhouse into a very small (for obvious reasons) interactive museum. The history of the building is unclear, but apparently it was used as a small school about a hundred years ago. We need to get someone to research the history while others do the spade work to make sure the building does not deteriorate any further (not surprisingly, I am in the latter category!).

Lots of ripping out of old wood and debris that had collected in the old school and building a large bonfire to get rid of it all. Plenty more work parties will be required to complete this community initiative, but at least we made a great start today and hopefully the result will be a focal point that can be enjoyed in the future by both local residents and holiday makers alike!

PS - At the camera club on Wednesday my blip from 4 February "After The Rain" won the Print of the Year in the beginners section. I was pretty chuffed to say the least.

PPS Saw my first Swallow a couple of days ago and since then have seen a further one here in Waterfoot. Summer can't be far away!!
