Waterfoot Sunrise

Anemone

Well this is the first time I have done my blip write up by candlelight. I was sitting doing some comments after dinner when the power went off. There was a thunder storm over Arran late afternoon, so I guess lightning could have struck some part of the grid.

It was actually a nice day again here although there were more clouds about than the last few days. As Mrs B is up in Glasgow for a couple of days, I had the chance to examine the new garden shed that arrived last night. The chap I bought it from promised me I would get it for the end of the week, but I wasn't expecting him to turn up at half six on Friday evening. By the time it was unloaded he didn't expect to get home till after half nine. Well seen its his own company and wants to keep his customers happy!
The shed is made of interlocking logs and is like a massive big Lego set complete with door and window that are slotted into place between the logs. I was like a wee boy with a new toy as I tried to figure out where all the pieces go. Only difference from Lego is that the biggest pieces are about 10 feet long! Still I got the base sorted out and everything else measured up ready for construction when I have 2 free dry days in a row.

As I searched around the garden for a quick blip I spied some nice Anemones in the front rockery. They don't do particularly well in our coastal environment but we have persevered with them as they mean a lot to us. My sister, Views of my World's Mother, was an artist and did a series of pastel drawings of Anemone arrangements. Following her tragic death, her paintings and drawings took on a new significance and a very special way of remembering her. Many years have passed since that awful day in 1976, but her drawings and paintings live on, with two of her Anemone pictures adorning the walls of our new house.

Another 3 Swallows seen high in the sky over Waterfoot this afternoon, so summer can't be that far away!

As soon as power is restored it will be a quick upload, cut and paste and post!

PS - Power restored at 2230 blip posted 2247!
