The 'Long Walk'

All up early, except Samantha that is, breakfast for Joshua and then off to Portreath to meet up with all the other Scouts for the "Coast-to-Coast" walk.
This week-end Joshua will walk from the North Cornwall coast, starting at Portreath at 08:00 and finishing tomorrow afternoon on the South coast at Maenporth, a good trek by anybody's standards, he will camp out overnight at Stithians.
After dropping him off it was off to Chez Grizzlies to collect a bed, bedding, table, iron, DVD player etc all going to a new and good home, having loaded Big Red we set off for Falmouth.
The opportunity to cross off another item from the bucket list was irresistable so Clare and I went for the 'Full English' at the Fisherman's Cafe on Exchequer Quay, Penryn and lovely it was too.
Arriving home we were shocked to see Samantha appear before noon early, hungry apparently having had nothing to eat since candy floss at the funfair some twelve hours earlier.
We then set off for Port Navas where we dropped off the contents of Big Red and then on into Falmouth, via the Farm Shop where we purchased all sorts of lovely local goodies. Whilst Clare stood by shaking her head Sam convinced me she needed a £22 school lunch box, after all it's Japanese!! Local scones purchased then it was home, Cream Tea's for lunch, isn't the Weight Watchers lad going to love me, followed by a restful afternoon.
Hoping it stays dry for Joshua and his fellow trekkers the house will seem quiet without him tonight.
